In mid-July 2024, Ehomm made its debut in South America by participating in the Brazil Electronics Show held in São Paulo. As a fast-growing LCD projector manufacturer, this was a major milestone for our international expansion—and our first deep dive into the Latin American market.
A New Continent, A Whole New Rhythm
From the moment we landed, Brazil welcomed us with warmth, rhythm, and color. Everything felt new: the reversed time zones, the late-night show hours, the lively pace of life, and the expressive cultural landscape. We were fascinated by the graffiti-covered walls, majestic churches, and talented street performers filling the city with music and movement—even if we didn’t understand Portuguese, we could feel the passion in every moment.
Children passing by our booth brought smiles to our faces. Their curiosity reminded us why we do what we do—to bring joy, entertainment, and accessible technology to every home.
Reuniting with Our Brazilian Partner — and a Surprise Discovery
One of the highlights of the trip was meet with our long-term Brazilian client, Tomate. We were thrilled to learn just how deeply their retail network is integrated into the local market.
As we explored the city, we discovered many retail stores in neighborhoods selling Tomate’s goods—and spotted our own projectors proudly displayed inside! Seeing our products on shelves in real Brazilian stores was an incredible moment of validation and motivation.
Building New Relationships in a Key Emerging Market
Throughout the four-day exhibition, we met many new potential clients and distributors from across Brazil and neighboring countries. The interest in LCD projectors was strong, especially in:
- Affordable home entertainment
- Smart education tools for schools and universities
- Portable projection for churches and small businesses
Our conversations gave us valuable insight into Brazilian consumer preferences, such as:
- Strong interest in simple, plug-and-play projectors
- Preference for high-lumen, durable models due to variable lighting conditions
- Need for localized interfaces and mobile compatibility
A Market Full of Personality and Potential
Brazil may be geographically distant from our headquarters, but this visit reminded us that great products and genuine partnerships transcend language and distance.
This trip allowed us to:
- Deepen trust with an existing partner
- Witness our product presence in retail firsthand
- Better understand the lifestyle, usage habits, and real needs of Latin American users
It was also a reminder of the power of being present. No market research can match the experience of walking the streets, visiting stores, and speaking with customers face to face.
